The Mission of the Boys and Girls Club is to enable young people to reach their full potential. They provide assistance with homework, and educational programs. They also provide activities including sports, arts, and crafts. The cost is $35/year, and scholarships are available.

Girls Incorporated of New Hampshire

The motto of the Girls Incorporated of New Hampshire is to inspire girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold! They serve girls from ages five through eighteen in their afterschool and summer programs. Their prevention and empowerment curriculum is research-based and developed by our national agency. The full cost to attend afterschool is $70 per week and for full day summer camp it is $185. Financial aid and scholarship slots are available for families who meet income eligibility requirements. 

Summer Programs 2015 (See At Risk Coordinator for detailed handouts): 1. General Information: The program includes meals and field trips – girls are separated based on their ages Days/Times: Monday through Friday 7:30-6, Cost: $175/week maximum, but it is based on a sliding scale, Ages: 5-18, Transportation: None 2. General Information: Leadership Program Days/Times: Monday through Thursday 9:00-3:00 for five weeks, Cost: $100/week, Ages: 12 and up, Transportation: None

Adult Learning Center

The Adult Learning Center has before and after school programs in/at the Hudson Public Schools. They provide breakfast in the morning and a snack in the afternoon. The program consists of fun activities, and homework time. The morning program starts at 6:30am, and the afternoon program ends at 6:00pm. The cost for all of the morning sessions is $45/week, and the cost of the afternoon program is $15/afternoon. The program takes the Department of Health scholarships, and can work with families if recommended by the schools. .)

The YMCA has many programs, including: programs for adults and children (including: leadership, sports, theater, swim lessons, sports classes, enrichment classes…), and a summer program at their Nashua and Merrimack locations. They have scholarships available for families in need.

Southern New Hampshire Services

Childcare Resource and Referral Program (Child Care Aware of NH)

This referral program is a confidential and free service which provides families information about childcare, summer programs, and before/after school programs. Child Care Aware individualizes the listing to the family/child’s needs, and can send them 3-15 referrals/listings. The family must make the phone call, as they will not provide the information to third parties. They also have a website (see above), however prefer that you contact them by phone, to provide more personal referrals. .

The Recreational Education Center has after school programs, weekend/holiday programs, and a summer camp that works with children who would benefit from Applied Behavior Analysis therapy. Many of these children are autistic, but no diagnosis is required. The Afterschool program focuses on academic, play, social, communication, and daily living skills. All children who attend have an initial assessment, which helps to determine their treatment plan. Many insurances will cover ABA, and therefore cover some/all of this program. If not, they also will accept private pay.
