Lawrence W. Russell, Jr.

Lawrence (Larry) Russell, Jr. is in the second year of being superintendent for the Hudson School District.  Previous to holding this position, he was the Director of Special Services in Hudson for two years.  Within that time, he has enjoyed working with the students and communicating with the families to work toward building a learning environment that promotes student achievement and social/emotional well-being.  He started his career in the Manchester School District before moving his family to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked for the Clark County School District for 16 years.  Next was a move to New Jersey to work for two districts there before coming to Hudson in the summer of 2015.  

Mr. Russell values the inclusion of 21st Century Skills (Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Critical Thinking) in all aspects of education to help prepare students for an ever-evolving future.  He hopes to earn the trust of the parents of Hudson that he holds their children’s interest and safety paramount in all decisions.  Mr. Russell holds the axiom of “If you make a decision based upon what is best for the student, you will never make a bad decision” as his beacon to lead the Hudson School District into the future. 

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction

Mary E. Wilson

Mary E. Wilson is the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction in Hudson School District. Prior to Hudson, Mary worked as the Curriculum Coordinator of SAU 64 Milton/Wakefield School Districts. Throughout her education career, she has taught preschool through the collegiate level. Most of her classroom experience was teaching math in middle school. She joined the Hudson administrative team in 2016. Her educational philosophy is that everyone can learn and that learning happens every day you are alive.


Director of Special Services
Rachel Borge, MSEd, CAGS

Rachel M. Borge joined the Hudson School District in 2017. She holds degrees in Communication Disorders and Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities from the College of Saint Rose and in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of New Hampshire. Mrs. Borge’s previous work experience includes middle school special education teaching in varied public school settings as well as ten years’ experience in Special Education Administration. In her spare time Mrs. Borge enjoys camping, reading and spending time with her family and their two dogs.

Business Administrator

Karen Burnell

The Business Administrator’s job is to ensure a safe, well-staffed and maintained educational environment for the students of Hudson. Mrs. Burnell oversees the support services critical to the successful education of our students, including administration of the district’s Business Office, Human Resources, Food Service, Facilities, and transportation services. 

Mrs. Burnell began her career as Town Accountant for the Town of Hudson before joining the Hudson School District in 1985 as District Accountant. From there, Mrs. Burnell advanced to the position of Finance Director and was later promoted to Business Administrator, a position she has held since 2010.

Mrs. Burnell and her husband have lived in Hudson for over forty years and their children were educated in the Hudson School District. Her children and their families also live in this community. During Mrs. Burnell’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family at Sebago Lake in Maine, vacationing, and sewing.
